Why is Rotary Village named Rotary Village?

answer...

How are the camp counselors chosen?

Counselors are chosen with the welfare of your child as a priority. Every staff must make a written application, have an interview with the director, and have on file 3 positive references in order to be considered for a position. We also use several international organizations to help create a diverse staff for the enrichment of the camp program. Staff are selected based on these qualifications: Christian values, leadership ability, maturity, individual skills, camp experience, love of kids, and positive personality traits.

Camp in 1963...

WOW! reading the other "memories" sure brings back my own. I started attending Camp Ocoee in 1963 at the age of 11... what great times... waterfront, canoes, "SLEW Juice"! We had no showers, and had to bathe in the lake late at night. no air conditioning, holes in the floors of the cabins... the smell of the camp store after supper while standing in line to get half-melted ice cream bars. "camp" pants with baggy pockets, BLISTERS!! Bug Bites! And, getting to ride the horses (do they still have horses?). Ocoee will mean a lot to you too, even after 40 years.
